The Densmore – Roudebush Team

Amos Densmore, his brother James and a third party, Watson, formed a shipping company called Densmore, Watson & Co. They shipped oil in their tank cars from Miller Farm on Oil Creek to Clint Roudebush & Co. in New York City. The partners of the local company operated as follows: James Densmore saw to the procurement of the tank cars while Watson bought the oil at the terminal dumps at Miller Farm and handled the loading into the tank cars. Amos was said to be an inactive partner (Giddens, 1947 and Smiley, 1906).
